About symbolic efforts in the coastal subcenter area at the Tokyo 2020 Games

The coastal subcenter area, including Aomi, Odaiba, and Ariake, is a "new town" where new development is progressing. The competition venues for the "new sports" adopted at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics will be consolidated, and we aim to realize an area that is attractive to visitors by creating a "new form of competition" that allows the competition-related facilities and the city to coexist.

In the coastal subcenter area, seven competition venues (* 1), partner show casing area (* 2), megastore (* 3) and other competition-related facilities are located within a radius of 1.5km centered on the torch stand. , It will be a place that symbolizes the Tokyo 2020 Games, which is a fusion of city and sports. The Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee has named the entire coastal subcenter area "TOKYO WATERFRONT CITY" and is a symbolic initiative "URBAN FESTIVAL" as the origin of the new Olympic and Paralympic Games where everyone can enjoy the Games. (Urban Festival) ”,“ PLAYGROUND ”, and“ OLYMPIC PROMENADE ”will be held in three locations.
